Anti-Ageing Part 1

6 Must do’s to Slow Down Your Ageing Process

Part 1

In this 3 part blog series I am going to offer you a blueprint for healthier living and a system that when implemented daily will help you look and feel great.

This sequence of 3 posts are designed to help you slow down Your ageing process and delay the negative attributes associated with ageing like a decline in energy levels, poor mobility and low moods. It will also help you to address any extra weight gains that may have crept on over recent years.

You are never too young to start to slow down your ageing process and the choices you make today and the time you invest in keeping yourself young now will pay dividends well into your future.

People have no problem investing daily in providing financial security for themselves and this is no different. Invest in your health now and you will be well rewarded with a long, happy and fulfilled life.

The subject of Anti-Ageing is a much discussed topic and has turned into a billion dollar industry. These days more and more people are opting for a chemical approach to trying to look younger and they are starting the process at a much earlier age. Like most consumer driven industries today the business advertising approach adapted is “more is better”

However, there is a better way for those of us who like a more natural approach and it can yield much better long term results. These better results are achieved because the step by step system I am going to introduce you to right now focuses on keeping you looking and feeling young not just on the outside but on the inside as well. And Yes – that does include everything from your brain right through your body and down to your toe nails.

In fact the only way to follow a successful Anti-Ageing routine is to learn to work from the inside out. Then once you understand what causes the ageing process you can introduce simple actions into your daily routine to slow down and in some cases reverse the ageing process.

Here’s what my plan is based on:

The ageing process is caused by many factors and while we may not be able to stop it we can certainly slow it down dramatically. The 2 main reasons why a body and mind will age faster than they should are firstly that we do not provide enough correct nutrition for the mitochondria in our cells to regenerate at their optimum level and secondly because we cant control the effects that negative areas of inflammation have on our cells.

Firstly you need to be aware that inflammation in the body is the most common cause of illness and premature ageing. It is the one symptom that links heart disease to cancer and everything else in between.

So how can we remove the risk of inflammation  from our daily lives? Lets start looking at what are the basic causes of inflammation and then find a way to lessen the impact they have on us.

Some instances of Inflammation can be positive and arise from receiving a cut or a bump and this type of inflammation or swelling is a natural reaction by the body to protect the damaged area. The other type of inflammation that occurs in our bodys  is very harmful and is usually caused by Free Radicals being released into the blood stream and then floating around bumping into and damaging healthy cells. These Free Radicals can in turn be caused by Poor Nutrition which elevates the acid levels in the blood, it can also be caused by High Levels of Exercise when coupled with a poor post exercise recovery plan and lastly but most importantly it can be caused by Stress.

So if you can Lower Stress levels, Exercise correctly and manage your Nutrition on a daily basis you should be on the right track. And yes it is that simple but unfortunately most people would rather leave their ageing process to chance than invest a few minutes every day in a simple routine that can yield massive health benefits in both the short and long term.

The Master Plan

There are 6 key daily needs that a person must pay attention to in order to slow down the ageing process and here they are in order of importance. Get these right and you will have access to the most powerful ways of lowering full body inflammation and nourishing your body deep down to the cellular level and thus slowing down your Ageing process.

  1. Thoughts
  2. Oxygen
  3. Water
  4. Nutrition
  5. Sleep
  6. Exercise

In order to understand how I prioritised the list above you just need to look at the frequency at which each of the actions above occur during our daily lives,

Our thoughts happen every second and are responsible for every action we take.

If we do not breath for about 4 minutes we will most lightly die.

We can survive without water for about 4 days.

We can survive without food for much longer.

In order to stay alert we need regular periods of sleep.

And in order to thrive we should all exercise.

So lets take a laser focused look at each of these topics, dispense with all the peripheral chitchat and cut straight to the chase – How to best utilise each of these key anti-ageing ingredients for our benefit and then I will put them all into a simple daily routine for you to follow.

There are 2 great things about the list of 6 needs as mentioned above.

Firstly - most of us are already consuming or doing all of these things on a daily basis and you may only need to make a few very small conscious adjustments to your routine to amplify your results. Secondly – at least 4 out of the 6 are free as we tend to only have to pay for our food and water.

  1. Thoughts

Every second of every waking moment is fuelled by our thoughts and if we can control these thoughts they are the most powerful anti-ageing allies we possess. Negative thoughts cause Stress and this sets up a chain reaction throughout the body of premature ageing due to the fact that it releases a series of natural chemicals and Free Radicals in the body that can be corrosive. For example, after the body has used up its Adrenalin stores and still feels under stress or pressure it will secrete a chemical called cortisol which can cause  corrosion  to a part of the brain called the Hippocampus. This part of our brain looks after our memory recall and so prolonged elevated levels of stress can lead to memory loss.

So, how do we control our thoughts? With Daily Mindfulness!

The first thing to do is just be aware that every single thought you have has a knock on effect on your body and mind. By adapting a simple approach to daily mindfulness you will remove about 80% of the unnecessary negative thoughts that you have.

Action required:

Start every morning and end every evening by saying relevant affirmations. If you are not familiar with what an affirmation is and how to construct them you can simply look them up via the link at the end of this post.

It is also very important to use the affirmations during the day at times when you start to feel stressed and this will help you reset your thought process.

In part 2 I will be discussing the next 3 most important needs that we can harness to help us slow down the ageing process.
